Adventure Consultant – Reservations & Trip Management

                                                                                   
We are currently seeking seasonal and year-round reservations staff. Our Adventure Consultants are responsible for consultatively selling O.A.R.S. trips and providing the highest quality service to ensure that every guest has the best experience on their trip.  Essential elements of the job are determining guest needs, assisting guests in choosing the most appropriate trips given their needs and capabilities and adding value to guests’ travel experience by providing accurate information and helpful suggestions.

Our goal is to provide the highest level of service by accurately completing all reservations to ensure the smooth transfer of information to leaders in the field (operations). Certain Adventure Consultants function as the regional specialist for a particular area of operation or O.A.R.S. Company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of O.A.R.S trips, policies, procedures and reservation system, along with selling skills and  customer service techniques
  • Answer and respond to incoming calls and return messages from prospective and current guests, travel agents and co-workers in a courteous, professional and timely manner.
  • Qualify and book guests for the most appropriate trips. Collect pertinent information about guests signing up for a trip.
  • Follow up with requests for information from Management, Marketing, Accounting, and Operations.
  • Saturday work hours as discussed upon hiring.
  • Other projects and duties as necessary or assigned.

In addition Area Coordinators will:

  • Function as the point person for other reservations staff in questions concerning their area of expertise.
  • Compile & mail or e-mail reservation related materials, including invoicing, for their area.
  • Oversee prompt and complete payments for reservations in their area prior to departure.
  • Collect client forms and complete accurate entry of that information into Tour Tools.
  • Provide Operations with complete and accurate information regarding their trips as booked by maintaining an open dialog on pending issues.
  • Coordinate with the Area Manager to open or close available trips as agreed upon to maintain a smooth flow of operations and release launch dates as required in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update trip related documents seasonally and on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications

  • Professional and upbeat phone presence
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, Email)
  • Accurate and detail oriented
  • Ability to multitask and manage time in busy office atmosphere
  • Well organized
  • Team player
  • Self-starter
  • Some college or equivalent required; outfitting, travel or hospitality industry experience a plus
