RIVERS FIJI OPERATIONS ASSISTANT – PHOTO KAYAKER
Start Date: June 2008
End Date: First week of October 2008
Pay: $1,500.00 per month

The focus of this job would be to supervise the safety and quality assurance issues of running Rivers Fiji trips.This would entail 6 days per week of work, 3 to 4 on the river and 2 to 3 in the office or on the road assisting with sales and marketing initiatives. When on the river the primary role would be to insure safe, quality river trips. The secondary role would be to act in the role of photo-kayaker. At the end of each trip photos would be shared with guests and sold to those interested. Once the guests are on the road the role would shift to more of an employee supervisor in terms of trip briefings, equipment cleaning and prep for the next day's trip.
This position would report directly to the General Manager and work alongside the Operations Manager. This position would assist in all facets of the operation as required. Job variety includes but is not limited to:

Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- BS degree in related field or equivalent experience in the adventure recreation / tourism business
- First Aid and CPR, WFR preferred
- Commercial river guide experience
- Guide or drive two to three times per week
- Highly motivated
- Good communication skills, written and oral
- Good leadership skills
- Takes initiative; does not wait to be told what to do... looks for what needs to be done and does it
- Ability to manage basic technology from word and excel programs, to internet and e-mail technologies
