About me
You know you love your job when you can be found doing the same thing in your spare time. So you will find me skiing in the winter and running rivers, mountain biking, or enjoying some other outdoor activity in the summer. I can also enjoy a day where I hide out and don't go outside at all 😉
The Best Part of My Job
I love that my profession allows me to ski powder all winter and float rivers all summer! I am able to spend a lot of my time in these very special places that most only get to see once or twice. I truly enjoy sharing that passion with all of the folks who come on trips with me. Also, sleeping under the stars on a moonless night!
How I found OARS
I have been guiding river trips most of my adult life and always wanted to work multi-days. I knew that OARS ran all the best multi-day sections in the West, so I sought them out when I transitioned from a daily guide.
My Favorite Spot on the River/Outdoors
Rippling Brook Camp in Lodore Canyon. This place has everything! A waterfall hike, sunny beaches, shady tent sites, swimming holes, and towering canyon scenery.
My Lucky Charm
I try to always bring with me humility and a deep appreciation for where I am.
I Can’t Live Without
A good sun hat and sunglasses combo.
My Fun Fact
My wife Sally can also be found working for OARS, and if you're lucky, maybe both of us could be on your trip!
